9/24/08 In Omaha, they have an artist's display - coordinated by three artists and a landscape architect - called the "Spirit of Nebraska's Wilderness". It is so forward thinking for art in a city. They have a central area where these bronze statues are located, depicting the old west. These settlers and pioneers, with their wagons and horses, frightened the buffalo who started a stampede around the city (actually around the buildings downtown) who in turn frightened the geese in the pond and sent them soaring, all the way into a building - the First National Bank. Very creative, very cohesive and absolutely genius!! We unfortunately did not get any pictures of the buffalo or geese as we were running out of time and saw them from the car!
9/24/09 Oh yeah~~~ two states at the same moment!! Just cool, that's all!
9/24/09 Our good friends from Omaha, Howard and Mary - who gave us the tour of a lifetime of Omaha in only a day and half!!!
9/24/09 The ripping current of the Missouri as it heads south!
9/24/09 The Pedestrian Bridge in Omaha, NE, cost $22 million and spans the Missouri River from Omaha to Council Bluffs, Iowa - Yes, we walked all the way to Iowa!!!
